This job was not your typical re-paint, this project involved a complete restoration. Cooks Hill, Newcastle project was a challenge, but the finished result was very rewarding for the Painting by Josh team.
All surfaces had to be scrapped back to a sound surface. As with most restorations – there were many surprises and challenges along the way. Exposed rotten timber needed to be dug out and replaced/filled using exterior waterproof patching. All brickwork surfaces had to be high pressure cleaned and scraped to remove all old flaking paint.
We had to apply a Dulux Acratex Primer solvent-based Sealer for consolidating and unifying the surface integrity of the powdery masonry surfaces.
We then applied our one of three top coats using Dulux Weathershield. All guttering, windows, door, handrails and fencing was finished with Dulux Domino. Brickwork was painted in Dulux’s Lexicon Quarter, with feature colours for the front column and feature-stripes in Mauve Grey.
