I've grown up in Railyway Street, Cooks Hill - Newcastle has always been home to me. I'm passionate about the people, the history, heritage and progression of the area and have fallen in love with our community.

I initially started and completed my apprenticeship in Newcastle - I moved away from home to grow my knowledge and experience in painting. Situated in Brisbane, I then travelled for many projects to Mackay, Bundaberg and all over Queensland working underneath major painting and building companies. Within this time I learnt all aspects of painting, from house and roof restoration to commercial and industrial projects. I ran jobs including the Sea World Convention Centre, Gold Coast Foreshore, Palm Beach Surf Life Saving Club, Brisbane Clem 7 Tunnels Upgrade, BWS Stores state-wide, 7/11 Service Stations and a major government school contract throughout QLD.

I met the love of my life, my wife - had our first child and decided there was no better decision than to return home to raise our family by the coast. I've taken the leap and started Painting by Josh - our family has never looked back since.

Seven years in business, we are so thankful to all of the love and suppport we’ve received from the Newcastle community. Welcoming our third ray of sunshine to the world, we’ve decided to move the family to Port Stephens & The Bay to enjoy all the coast has to offer. With new memories being made and a new community to grow amongst, we cannot wait to transform the homes and businesses in the area.
